PANAMA

Cody and I finally made the big trip to PANAMA where he served his mission. This trip was super great and super hot! Here are some of the highlights...
We arrived in Panama City late Friday night and as soon as I walked out of the airport my breath was taken away by the humidity and heat. Luckily the taxi drivers crank the a/c. I was so glad Cody knew spanish because right out of the gate they tried to over charge us and then sadly for them Cody joined thier conversation in Spanish. After a long day of flying we slept in and almost missed our flight to Changinola (near Costa Rica) where we would spend the next few days.
Changinola AKA Land of BANANAS, this place is beautiful. This is a photo from the plane of the banana fields and irrigation water.
This is a photo of Cody with the Sanchez family (whom we spent that night with and he was the Branch President when Cody served in that area) and I only know the lady in white as "mama." That is what Cody called her. Cody baptised her kids and later found out she was baptised as well.

We loved this family, especially the kid with the piece sign (he reminded me of Joshie). The next day we went to church and only two of the girls were there. So we asked where Juan (Joshie look alike) was and they said home playing Play Station. We got a good laugh at that.

This family is one of Cody's favorites. Walter and Emelda. Cody wanted to bring Walter to the states until he found out that he loved Kobe Bryant and the Yankees.
