9 month check up

We just returned from Maddie's 9 month check up. Sadly we didn't have a room with the scale in it so I was unable to get a picture on the scale like my last check ups (the things that are important to me :). We were glad to find out there were no shots administered just a prick of the finger to perform the Hemoglobin test which Maddie passed with ease.

One wouldn't imagine her stats if they saw this girl eat (still nursing every three hours, whole grain cereal w/ fruit for breakfast, a fruit and veggie for lunch and protein and a veggie for dinner).

Weight: 13 lbs 13 oz (0%)
Height: 27 in (32%)
Head 43 cm (23%)

We plan the appointments perfectly so she is able to come right home and sleep it off. I am not sure if you can see her little ring finger (luckily they didn't prick the finger she sucks) with the little bandage. She has this thing lately were she likes to be apologized to when anyone does anything that isn't satisfactory to her. She was wippering and carrying on until the doctor said sorry for all of the blood and put the bandage on, instantly she was just fine.

shorts weather

On cold stormy weather days like today I wish it were "shorts weather" like we have had recently. We love to take our puppy on walks on Sundays and last week was a particularly perfect temperatured day so we had a delightful afternoon walk as a little family.

Maddie prefers the big kid water bottles unless we are with Paige and Ethan then she will drink out of the similar kind of sippy cups they are. She certainly has a mind of her own and we love watching that develop and bloom. Don't you just love those long skinny legs (and feet and toes)?

some great cousins

We had a fun sleep over party with Maddie's cousins Lili and Mary. It was Spring Break for the girls so they got to sleep over Thursday to Friday. We had a fun time with our exciting cousins. We tried on the highest heels we could find.We dressed Maddie up (I know putting Maddie in a dress is dressing up to me:) and took pictures.
We stayed up late, woke up early, watched the same movie twice, went to Artic Circle to meet some friends for lunch and just enjoyed our time together.

They loved the things you could do with my phone and took so many fun pictures. Here are my favorites of them, totally shows thier fun personalities.

rabbit hunting

we made the long drive to the desert to do a little rabbit hunting for cody's birthday. we had a great time with ryan, josh, britt, landon and lexie. my favorite comment of the day was landon saying that he would starve if he had to kill his food. it was a different experience (not nearly as fun) with a baby where i didn't trust getting near the guns nor ride the four wheeler.
although i didn't remember her sweet camo bucket hat for that trip i remembered it for a sunny sunday where she needed protection for her little head. she even makes camo look good.

We are excited to spend more time at the zoo as the weather warms up with our cousins this summer.Maddie finally got out of her stroller to see the animals. We are glad we got this picture, since then the baby giraffe has passed away.

prisoner

look what we found when we went to get maddie out of bed this morning.
and naturally she was still smiling.
I can't say that I have a favorite age but 8 months sure has been great!

We just love our little ruthie.

My favorite thing when we get Maddie wrapped up in her towel is to say hi in the mirror before getting dressed. She loves to laugh in the mirror. She also loves to watch video of herself and loves to hold my phone and laugh at her picture on my screen. She is such a delightful little baby. She is loving and fun. I think she has the best of Cody and I.

We are begining to prepare our house for this little worldwind to start going.
